Late Winter Snow on Whidbey

We woke to a fresh coat of snow this morning.

Winter is not over yet on Whidbey.

Winter Hike at Ebey

Even on a chilly winter day the Ebey Trail Hike was rewarding.

 

It is near Coupeville, on Whidbey Island and is a showcase for farmland, a pioneer home and blockhouse, and great views of the Olympic Peninsula.

Oak Harbor Panorama

This was the view this morning from above Barrington Drive, on the east side of Oak Harbor.  Mt. Baker is at the horizon to the left while the North Cascades are to the right.  Mt. Pilchuck is just at the right edge of the panorama. 
This is a combination of 14 photos, merged in Elements 6.  I held my Nikon vertically as I panned the view.  This image is greatly reduced as the original is over 22 MB.

This panorama of Fort Casey, on Whidbey Island, was taken last summer.  Sometimes I'm glad to be reminded of sunshine on a winter day.

The view from Barrington Dr. this morning.  Looking east, the North Cascade Mountains grace the horizon.  This is a combination of four photos, combined in Photoshop Elements.  The file is greatly reduced for web viewing.

Mall Tree

We had just come out of one of the shops at the mall in Burlington, WA.  The sun had set but its rays caught a few high clouds. 
It is a mall tree, adding accent to one of the mall parking lots.  You never know - so I always have my camera with me.

Mt. Rainier at Dusk

This was the view from Windjammer Park, Oak Harbor, at dusk on Feb. 3.  Granted, I use a telephoto lens and a tripod, but even those strolling along the shoreline path stopped to admire the view.
