After the Rain

I don't know why I think raindrops on plants and leaves are so beautiful. Maybe because I've seen so many of them lately.

It was good to see the Olympics this morning from Whidbey Island after weeks of clouds and rain.

Weeds or Beauty?

Weeds in a vacant lot. Or are they picture perfect wild flowers? Perhaps just a dandelion and wild daisies.

Yes, we do have beautiful sunny days on Whidbey. This view is from Dugualla Bay. I am catching up on photos I have not yet posted.

Soaring in the Clouds

This eagle was soaring so high he appeared to be a mere speck in the sky. I'm glad I had a telephoto lens.

Our Blue-eyed Cat

This stray showed up on our step a few years ago and never left. We assume she is a Siamese mix or perhaps Tonkinese mix. You can see her body markings in the photo below. She is very social and can make eerily human like sounds.

Pink Tulips - April 9

Some close up photos, having fun.
There is such beauty in the small as well as the expanse.
And then there is the wider view.

Deer on Whidbey - April 2

Can you spot the eight deer in this field by Libbey Road?
There were a total of thirteen in the field. It seems there are many more deer on Whidbey Island now than when I was growing up here in the 1950s.

Rain on Whidbey - April 5

The flower garden through a rain splattered window. I guess I'll stay inside today.

Picnic View - April 2

Ft. Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island is a great place for a picnic and a bluff hike. The views of the Salish Sea and the Olympics are amazing.

Windy Day - April 2

A paraglider at Ft. Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island. Notice the white caps on the Salish Sea? It was a windy day. The Olympic Mountains are in the distance.

Light - April 2

This morning view reminded me of the significance of the previous day, Easter. I was at my neighbor's yard in Oak Harbor.

Skagit Valley Snow Geese - April 1

There were many more people parked by the side of the road getting pics of the snow geese than the daffodils.
