Camp Casey, Whidbey Island, WA

Seattle Pacific University owns the housing area of Fort Casey.  Shown here is the Colonel's house.  Also shown is part of the parade ground, now used for soccer camps and other special events such as kite flying groups.
This again shows the Colonel's house, the BOQ and the faculty house.
This is the alumni house.

Panorama from South Whidbey

This is the view from Hilltop Dr., south of Clinton, at the south end of Whidbey Island.  This panorama is a combination of four photos (and is greatly reduced in size).
This is an even broader view, a combination of eight photos (again greatly reduced).  Across Saratoga Passage is Everett and the Cascade Mountains.

Mt. Baker from Ebey Bluff Trail

I think one could walk the Ebey's Landing trail along the bluff every day and have a different view.  If one begins the hike at the Sunnyside (Coupeville) Cemetery and follows the access road, it is nearly a level stroll out to the bluff.
On the way to the bluff one passes the Ebey Blockhouse and pioneer home, the Olympic Mountains providing a backdrop.  Certainly a beautiful and easy hike!

Mt. Baker from Penn Cove, Whidbey Island

This was the view from Madrona Way on Whidbey Island just before noon.
When I came back late in the afternoon, the clouds were gone.

Backlit Flowers

I took this picture toward the sun with the shaded part of a nearby tree as the background.  I looked a bit strange, lying flat on the ground, but I like the results.
