I caught the sunset last night from "Sunset Beach," the beach next to Joseph Whidbey State Park on the west side of Whidbey Island.

The clouds were putting on a show to the south, over the Olympic Moun- tains.

This was the scene when I arrived at the beach few minutes before sunset.

Transporting Logs

Hiking near Bowman Bay on Fidalgo Island, we watched as logs were being prepared to go through Deception Pass.  Yes, that is a man on the logs.  It reminded my of my childhood when my father also walked the logs at the San de Fuca sawmill.
