I was at Windjammer Park a few mornings ago and caught Mt. Rainier in the distance. The windmill was constructed in honor of the early island settlers of Dutch descent.
After days of cloudless skies, high clouds appeared a couple of mornings ago. This photo was taken just before sunrise from the west side of Oak Harbor. The North Cascades are on the horizon.
The color went quickly as this photo, taken about fifteen minutes later, shows.
Sometimes I remember to turn around when I am catching a sunset. This time I saw the moon to the east among the high clouds reflecting the sunset hues.
I was on the west side of Whidbey Island last month, taking photos of the sunset, when I looked south along the bluff. Another photographer had the same great idea of catching a spectacular sunset.
