Old Saint Mary's Church, San Francisco

The cornerstone for this cathedral was laid in 1853 with the first mass being the Christmas Midnight Mass of 1854. A larger cathedral was built in 1891 and Saint Mary's became a parish church. The church survived the 1906 earthquake but was gutted the next day by fire. Only the exterior brick walls and bell tower remained. Renovation was completed in 1909. It serves Chinatown and Nob Hill today.

San Francisco Chinatown

I recently went on a trip to San Francisco with seven friends. We've known each other since junior high and celebrated all of us turning 65.
Over the next few days you'll some of the scenes I captured on our journeys.
