We passed through Oak Creek Canyon as we drove north from Sedona toward the Grand Canyon. You can see the hairpin turns we followed.
We stopped at the Oak Creek Canyon Vista Point, a little over half way to Flagstaff. We were at an elevation of 6,420 feet.
The overlook had a very informative display, explaining the various layers of rock.
The Oak Creek Canyon is second only to the Grand Canyon as the most popular tourist destination in Arizona.
