Capilano: Kia'palano

There is an informative exhibit of First Nations' culture, including totems and living areas.

Capilano: Cliff Walk

On the east side of the canyon is the Cliff Walk. Parts of it are suspended out over the cliff, giving good views of the suspension bridge and the river below.

There is one grated area to add a little suspense to the walk.

Capilano: Rain Forest and Treetops Adventure

On the west side of the canyon are exhibits and boardwalks through a rain forest and up in the trees.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

The Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is just north of Vancouver. Only a few hours away, I had never been there until last week. There were a few hundred other people there too. The current bridge is 450 feet long and 230 feet high. The bridge has been rebuilt a few times since the original in 1889.

It was a wobbly experience and required hanging on to the railings most of the time.

The bridge spans the Capilano River, one of the sources of drinking water for Vancouver.
