If you are near the waterfront in Seattle, you have to visit the "gum wall." It's on a short block of Post Alley under the Pike Place Market. The gum began appearing around 1993 when patrons of the nearby theater stuck their gum on the wall. Theater workers scraped the gum off twice but then, around 1999, it was thought to be a tourist attraction and left alone. In some places the gum is several inches thick. As you can see, some gum depositors are quite artistic.
