The mission was completed 1755 and is the only one in North America not having suffered structural damage.

It is the oldest unrestored church in America.

This painting of Saint Francis dates to 1690 according to our docent.

Frescos were on the exterior and interior of the mission. A few are still visible and some have been gently restored.
