One of our cats, a stray taken in, still loves to think about catching birds.
This last round of storms finally provided the mountain snow we have been waiting for.

This photo was taken at Libbey Beach, an Island County park on the west side of Whidbey Island. This view to the north shows the Canadian Cascades and the houses above Flounder Bay on Fidalgo Island. The conditions were right for a Fata Morgana.
The last time I was at the marina I noticed this wooden boat in need of some work.
This metal keel was no better off. It was interesting to see that the same marine animals appear to attach themselves to wood and metal.
I was on the Maylor's Point path when I saw these bushes and was struck by the thorns. (Figuratively, not literally.) This is a close-up. The thorns are about a half an inch long but they certainly looked dangerous to me.
A trip to the marina is always productive.

Low humidity and clear skies provided a great view of the North Cascades from Oak Harbor.

From Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, one can see two active volcanoes and two mountain ranges. To the east are the Cascade Mountains.
To the west are the Olympic Mountains.
To the northeast is Mt. Baker.
And to the southeast is Mt. Rainier.
Why would anyone want to live anywhere else?
