Fort Casey Historical State Park

This view from near the park ranger office gives an idea of the role of Fort Casey on Whidbey Island. Along with forts on the Olympic Peninsula, Fort Casey was to protect Puget Sound from war ships. It has a great view of Admiralty Inlet. Built in the late 1800s, it was active until the 1940s.
