Hundreds of the many snow geese wintering in Skagit Valley.
We saw these yesterday in fields near the Snow Goose Produce stand (closed for the winter).

Fabonnaci Spiral

Pinecones, seed heads, flower petals and many other items in nature follow the Fabonnaci Spiral. I pass the tree that produced this cone on my daily walk.

Ebey's Prairie Ridge Trail

One can park near the Coupeville cemetery and take the Ridge Trail to the bluff.
The trail is nearly level and connects with trails into the woods and along the bluff. You'll see historical buildings,
the Olympic Mountains, and ships heading out to the Pacific Ocean. These are photos from last June.

These photos are about a half an hour apart.
I enjoy seeing how the colors change around dawn. I was on Freund's Hill for these photos.

Oak Harbor Dawn - December 6

These two photos are about a half hour apart.
The foreground is a little different as I was on foot and had walked to another location on Freund's Hill.

Not all sunsets are spectacular but there are always many people parked along Sunset Beach on Whidbey Island to check it out.

Swan Lake - January 15

This is one of my favorite morning views of the Olympic Mountains. I took this photo from my car while on a county road with no room for parking, constantly checking my rear view mirror, window down, clicking away.

The Olympic Mountains catch the first light of January 14.
I was near the entrance to the Joseph Whidbey State Park on the west side of Whidbey Island.

The Mountains Are Out - January 13

It was so good to see the Cascades, Baker and Rainer again after a few days of rain.
I was on Freund's Hill in Oak Harbor just before sunset for these views.

A subtle sunset over the Olympic Mountains ended a day that had been full of photography for me.

The houses on Camano Island were clearly visible, as were the snowy Cascade Mountains. Penn Cove is in the foreground.

Olympic Snow

Even on the overcast day of November 25, the Olympic Mountains were showing off a new coat of snow. Sunset Beach, Whidbey Island.
