This is the small community on Whidbey Island near where my father had a farm. I used to ride my bike to the little store near the water, now a gallery. The Olympic Mountains still have some winter snow at the first of May.

This view of the Olympics is from San de Fuca, the small Whidbey Island community of my childhood. My parents owned a farm about a half mile away and I frequently rode my bicycle to the tiny general store near the water. This photo is from March 31.

A southwest view from the east side of San de Fuca at the end of March. San de Fuca is the little Whidbey Island community of my childhood. Land developers had big plans for this place over a century ago. At one time there was a hotel near where I took this photo.

This view is a familiar one to me as my childhood home is just up the hill from the dock and what used to be the post office and small grocery store nearby.
